There is someone in my life that we will call "L.". I honestly cannot imagine my life without her. We don't talk everyday nor do we even live close to each other (actually about 3,000+ miles away) but in my heart it feels like she lives next door and we have breakfast together everyday. I have this amazing friend that I am privileged to have called my friend for 10 years. I adore, respect and truly love her like my sister. After I was diagnosed with breast cancer, I called her and all I pretty much could do was cry on the phone. She was on the next plane to be with me. This woman has a beautiful family and a highly successful career but she put her life on hold for me. FOR ME, SHE PUT HER OWN LIFE ON HOLD. She held my hand and gave me comfort. I will forever be grateful. She gave me the strength to laugh after the surgery, something I wasn't sure at the time I would ever be able to do again. "L.", YOU empower me like no other. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for being you and for loving me.
